Savoir-faire français

Extended professional experience lead the author to observe that rhythmic precision remains a real problem, regardless of which groups are involved. This new method can provide a working mode, a discussion tool for musicology students, who are destined to guide, conduct and train numerous amateurs.
Rhythm is fundamental for choirs, wind ensembles, brass bands, folk bands and all groups.
Yet, where rhythm is concerned, though all sensory approaches are essential, there is always the "reading" hurdle that must be overcome, requiring intellectualization merged with experience.
Reverting to "the child with a primary reader" can be traumatising for some people, especially since learning methods for adults are not the same as for children.
The adult needs to understand, and can intellectually absorb abstract principles very quickly, but sometimes has dificulties relating to the physical sensations that are the very essence of rhythm.
Thanks to the recording, including all exercises and musical examples, the pupil is totally autonomous (4 hours of listening material on a computer or smartphone).
For each score, a recording of just the accompaniment offers the chance to sing or play the score with its full musical contents. Each example is followed by a recording of the same excerpt by professional singers or orchestras, and some biographical information about the composer.
Singing, or playing, written music means connecting with the author, as if bringing him back to life.
