Le rythme dans la peau - Move that Song further along
MOVE THAT SONG ALONG
That which lives, moves. Living music moves. It is moved by you and it moves you. You feel it through movement response, and your feelings are called e-motions. It moves you to move.
Each song in "Move That Song Along", is an illustration of a specific rhythmic situation. It provides the music to move with (and be moved by) and a text which describes or refers to the rhythmic event taking place.
We know that the more avenues through which information is perceived and received, the more rapidly and securely it will be integrated and retained. Information acquiered in a poly sensory way is also more readily accessed for use and application later, in performance, improvisation and composition.
In learning rhythms, the body programs itself through rhythmic movements. This is called, building muscular, or kinesthetic memory.
The "Keep Moving" songs add description and / or analytical language to the event which is being experienced physically. Event and language become fused, and the rhythm and its name and / or description become indissoluble: they have become one.
Add pleasure to the learning process and it goes faster, and what is learned is retained longer. So, these songs are meant to be amusing and fun, to be sung, danced and performed with others (many are canons).
The songs are not categorized according to age or level, but are arranged by subject, and go from very simple to quite challenging.
Pick and choose according to your needs and pleasure. Keep moving, keep singing, and "Move That Song Along".
