FEIERABEND Tobias

Born in Paris in 1993, Tobias Feierabend first studied composition with Valéry Aubertin at the Conservatory of Noisel and later with Jean-Luc Hervé at the Regional Conservatory of Boulogne-Billancourt. In 2018, he was admitted to Frédéric Durieux's Composition class at the National Superior Conservatory of Paris (CNSMDP) and to Yan Maresz' and Luis Naón's New Technologies course. He has participated in a variety of master classes conducted by prominent composers, including Tristan Murail and Clemens Gadenstätter. His scores have been performed by the ensembles l'Itinéraire, l'Ensemble Hélios and l'Ensemble Multilatérale, among others. In April 2018, he won the International Competition in Composition of Boulogne-Billancourt with his piece, Nu. In 2021, he was commissioned by the Paris Philharmonie for a new work for ensemble, Rosace, which was performed as part of the "Rising Stars" series of the European Concert Hall Organisation.
Tobias Feierabend has a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the Sorbonne and a Master's degree in Musicology from the CNSMDP, where he also received Prizes in Musical Analysis (2016), 20th and 21st Century Writing (2017) and Aesthetics (2017). In addition to his work as a composer, Tobias Feierabend has taught Musical Analysis at the Regional Conservatory of Boulogne-Billancourt since 2019. He is frequently invited by institutions such as CNSMDP to participate in juries and as a guest professor.
