Dedication

to Adrienne Clostre

Note

Beyond: further than. Further than the ordinary and the day to day, a journey into the imaginary.
A music of passage, the passage from one state to another, from immobility to action, from inertia to paroxysm, until shifting into a sound realm where discourse unravels bit by bit, as if weightless.
An itinerary where gesture is primordial, as is the importance bestowed upon the immediacy of writing.
This piece is dedicated to the memory of composer Adrienne Clostre, in reference to her string quartet Sun, the very expression of energy.
