BERLAUD Alain

Born in La Rochelle in 1971, Alain Berlaud studied music at the National Conservatory in Tours where he was awarded first prizes in ?ench horn, chamber music, music education, and compositional styles. After studying voice and choir conducting, he worked closely with diferent orchestral and choral ensembles in France's central region as conductor and composer. With a masters degree in musicology from the University of Tours (Stravinsky's coda process: what perception of time?) and professor status, Alain Berlaud worked with Philippe Leroux at the Nanterre Conservatory. He received a 1st Prize from the Paris Conservatory in Michaël Levinas' analysis class, and he studied composition with Paul Mefano and Marco Stroppa as well as electro-acoustics with Luis Naon, Laurent Cuniot, Tom Mays and Yann Geslin.
