VALADE Pierre-André

Born in France in 1959, Pierre-André Valade is co-founder of the Paris-based Ensemble Court-circuit which he was music-director of from 1991 to 2008. He then became Chief Conductor of Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen from 2009 to 2014. Since 2013, he is Principal Guest Conductor of the Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain in Lyon, and is currently engaged in an active career as a guest conductor with many orchestras of international standard. His regular collaborations include among others the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, or the London Philharmonia Orchestra. He has recorded more than thirty CDs, with various orchestras including the BBC Symphony Orchestra (London), the Luxembourg Philharmonic, the RTÉ National Symphony of Ireland (Dublin), Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI (Torino) and others. A forthcoming release from Æon label, early 2015, will feature a Tristan Murail portrait with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic.
He was chosen in 2014 by the Milano Musica Festival to conduct a concert in memoriam Luciana Pestalozza and Claudio Abbado, a high-profile event of this particular edition of the festival, where he first conducted the "Filarmonica della Scala" in Milano.
