LORUSSO Giulia

Giulia Lorusso is an Italian composer based in paris.
She studied piano and composition at the conservatory Giuseppe Verdi in Milan, with Alessandro Solbiati, and in Paris where she attended the cursus Ircam and completed a master's degree at the Conservatoire de Paris (CNSMDP) in the class of Frédéric Durieux.
She was a student in the generative improvisation class held by Vincent Lê Quang.

Her production includes both instrumental and electroacoustic works integrating new technologies and exploring the relationship between performer, audience and devices as well as the relation between sound and space.
Her music has been commissioned by institutions such as Ircam-Centre Pompidou, Gmem de Marseille, Radio France, Proquartet, Donaueschinger Musiktage and performed by renowned musicians as Brussels Philharmonic, Quatuor Tana, Quatuor Diotima, Ensemble 2e2m, United Instrument of Lucilin, Yarn/Wire.

Giulia has been artist in residence at ZKM (Zentrum für Kunst und Medien) de Karlsruhe, at the european University of Cyprus (EUC), at Royaumont Fondation (Incubator project), Fondazione Spinola-Banna per l’Arte (Turin).
She is currently composer associated with the ensemble 2e2m for the season 2023-2024.< br/>She is recipient of the prix Sacem Hervé Dugardin (2023) and Premio una Vita nella Musica Giovani (2024).

Her catalog includes interdisciplinary works exploring installations, interaction, experimental music theater, collective composition.
She collaborated with researchers (Alessandro Rudi of Inria), philosophers (Emanuele Coccia, Rosario Diana), visual artists (Jessica Rimondi, Kesson Dalef), dancers and puppeteers (Amalia Franco).
Her interactive installation Fabrica has been part of the the Réseaux Monde exposition at Centre Pompidou (Paris) in 2021.

Giulia is also active as a teacher and pedagogue, she’s been professor invited for the first edition of the Académie Mixte, organised by Proxima Centauri Ensemble in Bordeaux (France).
She’s been teaching composition at the bachelor and master level in italy at Conservatory of Pesaro and Conservatory of Vibo Valentia.
