02/03/2000 - Saarbrücke, Saarländischer Rundfunk - Thierry Miroglio (percussions) and Ancuza Aprodu (piano)

Like the image of Al Uzza, the mythical goddess from ancient Jordan, Dominique Lemaître's work highlights dynamic and color contrasts, violence and meditation.
Percussion finds its place here, at times in osmosis with, and at other moments in opposition to the piano. As soloist, it is melodic, sometimes chaotic - with its punctuating exclamations, meditative resonance, and the breaking or supporting of piano phrases.
The piano often accompanies the percussion within melting resonances, but it also clearly dominates in the central part of the work with its ceremonial character. Long phrases, punctuated by contrasting nuances, generate new colors as they blend with different percussion timbres.
Thierry Miroglio
