The Holocaust Memorial in Berlin: resolute, alignments of cement blocks, all similar, all different, forming an immense quadrilateral, offering thousands of perspectives. My piece merely tries to evoke this monument so moving in its simplicity: the allegory of an allegory. The chord filaments, emerging from silence, returning to silence, form straight lines, become superimposed, overlap, crisscross - to the point that one could sometimes have the impression of hearing several pianists...
