Etudes sur des soli d'orchestre avec transposition (25)
These 25 studies are based on orchestral passages from symphonic or operatic works in which the horn plays a major role. The original solo appears in [ ], and the composer and title are always given.
Unlike most of the albums of "orchestral passages", sometimes entitled "difficult passages" these solos may be played at an intermediate level, approximately grade V (UK).
Each solo comes with a development enabling the horn-player to get to know the passage in question, as well as the playing style appropriate for the period or the composer, and thus forms an original study.
Half the studies concern a problem peculiar to the horn, namely transposition, and the original keys of the solos have been retained.
