Muguets. This piece was composed in the spring and remains one of my favourites (like the lily-of-the-valley of the title). It is a light little waltz with a Parisian perfume, and is dedicated to a Corsican lady, an amateur music-lover, and a long-standing pupil of mine.
L'Allusive (dedicated to Fernando S.) Well may you wonder who is hiding behind this mysterious initial. Although the piece starts with the opening bars of a famous study by a Catalan composer and ends with the final bars of the same study, L'Allusive soon assumes its own personality and remains independent more or less throughout. It is an ideal work to trip up the know-alls of this world, and you will have fun playing it, while at the same time making progress. So - now have you guessed who Fernando S. is?
