MIKULKA Vladimir

Born in Prague in 1950 and now living in Paris, Vladimir Mikulka commenced his guitar studies at the age of 13.
ln 1970, while still a student of the Stage Conservatory of Prague, he won First Prize at the "Concours International de Guitare de Paris" organized by French Radio and Television - O.R.T.F.
Not only is Vladimir Mikulka a great exponent of the guitar, but he is also in demand as a teacher having conducted many International Master Classes.
Vladimir Mikulka's repertoire not only comprises the classics but also includes a large selection of contemporary guitar music. Many composers have written for him and certain of their works have become famous.
For instance The Prince's Toys, an attractive suite by the young Muscovite composer Nikita Koschkin was given in world premiere by Vladimir Mikulka in the "Grand Auditorium de Radio France" in 1980.
He now plays every season in most European countries and frequently tours Japan, Australia, North and South America. He is invited to perform in prestigious concert halls.
