CAMPANA José-Luis

Born in 1949 in Buenos Aires, Jose Luis Campana initially studied composition with Jacobo Ficher, then with Betsy Jolas and Ivo Malec in Paris. He received the first prize in composition at the Antidogma musica competition (Turin) as well as the Serocki (Warsaw), Francesc Civil (Girone), Enesco (SACEM), Goffredo Petrassi and Young Generation in Europe prizes. He has received commissions from the Donaueschingen/Radio Baden-Baden Festival, Radio France, Présences Festival, the Musical Research Group (GRM) of Paris, Ircam, the Ministry of Culture, Salzburg Mozarteum, Metz Festival, et al. In 1992, he founded the Arcema Ensemble of which he remains artistic director. This group brings together soloists from the Orchestre de Paris, the Ensemble Intercontemporain and professors from the national conservatories of Paris and Lyon.
