Claude Debussy's Nocturnes were composed in 1898/99 and premiered at the Concerts Lamoureux.
Debussy himself modified the original orchestration, with these modifications becoming so essential that in 1930, Editions Jobert decided to publish a new edition, with consent from his heirs. Editions Jobert made a new revision of the orchestral parts and score in 1964.
