KALAMPALIKIS Orestis

Orestis Kalampalikis was born in Athens, Greece. He started playing the guitar at the age of 7. After nishing his musical studies at the National Conservatory of Athens (class of Yiannis Petridis), he was accepted at the Conservatoire National de Musique et de Danse in Paris (2005), where he obtained his Diplôme de Formation supérieure in 2009 (class of Roland Dyens). During this period he has won several prizes in international guitar competitions (Fontenay-sous-Bois, 2006/2nd prize, Conservatoiry of Filippos Nakas-Patras, 2006/1st prize, panhellenic Veria competition 2006/1st prize, "The Ivor Mairants Guitar Award", London, 2006/3rd prize, Fontenay- sous-bois,2007/1st prize). He has also attended many master classes. Apart from his classical formation he has been inuenced by various musical styles. Along with his performing activities he has an interest in composition which he studied with Bernard Cavanna (Conservatoire des Gennevilliers). Three of his guitar works have won rst prizes in international guitar composition competitions: "World Guitar Competition" 2012 (Novisad, Serbia) / "Lycia Guitar Days" 2014 (Antalya, Turkey) / "Nilufer Guitar Days" 2015 (Bursa,Turkey). He also composes for the theatre (compagnies RL, Parpadou, Strates). He lives in Paris.
