Nicely varied tangos from Argentine composer
These three pieces by talented Argentine guitarist Adrien Politi are a welcome addition to the contemporary guitar repertoire. All are well-written for the instrument, and although there are some technical dif?culties which probably only the higher-grade player would find manageable, everything sits neatly under the ?ngers.
The ?rst, and least tango-sounding piece, "Fogoso" ("Spirited"), is a quirky and very rhythmic composition alternating between bars of 5/4, 5/8, 2/4, and 3/4 - these changes giving the work a forward momentum. There are some attractive little snatches of melody now and then, but it is the rhythmic character that makes this piece memorable. "Sensible" ("Sensitive") is a melodious and sentimental work very much in the style of some of the more protracted slower sections of compositions by Politi's famous countryman, Astor Piazzolla. This piece contains some of the work's best writing. The set concludes with "Sencillo" ("Easy"), which is very much in the nuevo tango fashion, once again incorporating good, strong rhythmic writing and some interesting harmonies.

Focoso, sensibile, soprattutto tango!
II chitarrista e compositore argentino Adrien Politi ha al suo attivo diverse composizioni sia per chitarra sola sia - e soprattutto - per duo e trio di chitarre.
Diversi numeri della sua produzione sono dedicati alla didattica - interessante la Suite Argentina per giovanissimi chitarristi -, altri sono destinati alle opere da camera e per coro.
I 3 Tangos sono dedicati al chitarrista Yann Péran e sono concepiti come una sonatina in tre movimenti. Il Focoso, ispirato ai tanghi classici, inserisce dei metri dispari che distorcono il percorso ritmico. Sensibile è il secondo tango, dal carattere tranquillo, ?uido e cantabile, mentre Sencillo, il terzo ed ultimo brano, è più ritmico ed aggressivo. La poetica è, come in tutti questi casi, legata molto al folclore che, però, nel caso speci?co è rivisitato in maniera personale e non troppo scontata. Il lavoro può essere utilizzato anche come brano didattico in quanto la difficoltà è media.

Voici trois tangos aux styles différents dans ce recueil d'Adrien Politi. L'un, très rythmé, emploie une combinaison peu habituelle de 2 / 4 et 5 / 8 à côté d'éléments mélodiques traditionnels et d'harmonies souvent rencontrées dans le tango actuel. Un deuxième, lent et lyrique, déploie une mélodie ornementée et assez libre sur une basse parsemée. Le troisième, mêlant accords, traits et mélodies sera plus délicat à aborder dans son phrasé et obtenir un tout cohérent quant aux différentes idées mélodiques et rythmiques. La diffculté technique de l'ensemble reste fort maîtrisable, mais il faudra veiller à la précision rythmique et à l'expressivité mélodique pour rendre tout l'intérêt de ces pièces agréables à jouer.
